The appointment was announced by International Trade Minister Mark Garnier and was timed to coincide with the first Midlands Engine Trade Summit, taking place today, 9 March at The Vox in Birmingham.

The first Midlands Engine Trade Summit aims to help businesses across the region grow by offering inspiration alongside practical advice.
The day features a range of high profile speakers and interactive practical events, and will provide a great opportunity for businesses to find out about the support on offer to grow a business by exploring new markets.
Keynote speakers include Sir John Peace and Department for International Trade Minister, Mark Garnier as well as a series of workshops such as “Exporting, is it for me?” There is also the opportunity to set up one to ones with international trade, industry and market experts.
